The penultimate day of hiking had arrived! Here’s me happy about the sunshine and forgetting about my tired feet!
On Day Four of the W Trek, we hiked from Camp Frances to Camp Central, passing the giant Nordenskjold Lake and its blue waters. We walked for a little bit along its shore, before heading uphill for some fantastic lake views. I really felt the uphill and was ever so thankful for the walking poles. I’m all for them!
More Day 4 memories…
- The happiness I felt when I saw the occasional orange leaves. I’ll say it again, autumn in Patagonia would truly be something! I was just too early, I’m up for a next time!
- Sincerely hoping the decent weather we’d enjoyed for the four days so far would continue for our hike to the Towers on our last day!
- Not really noticing the big rucksack on my back anymore. It felt a part of me! Like a turtle carrying their house! Slow and steady pacing was key.
- Putting up the tent for the last time. I considered myself an adept tent setter upper!
If you’d like to read more, I’ve written two blog posts about Torres del Paine and the W trek. One is about my W trek experience and the second is more a breakdown of costs and tips.
