My stay in San Martin de los Andes was very relaxed and this photo really reflects those vibes! I walked from town to La Islita, pausing at the Mirador Bandurrias viewpoint for really stunning views over Lake Lacar. At the viewpoint, I made a friend – the conversation starter was when I asked if he could take a photo and vice versa – and we continued on to La Islita together.
This will be a short post as I spent the rest of the day sat here, on the small pebbly beach, enjoying the moment and scenery. With lovely weather and these sorts of places to visit nearby, I was very content!
Looking back this whole area – San Martin de los Andes, Villa La Angostura, Bariloche – is such a lovely destination to visit. I road tripped the Seven Lakes route with fellow backpackers. Past me would have liked to have a car for longer in San Martin to see the rest of the area!
